The goals of the association are stated in article 2:

  • To promote mutual help by offering technical, social, administrative and financial support to the members.
  • To help the patients and their families to overcome a sense of isolation.
  • To get in touch with people with IP.
  • To help coordinate the various research works on IP.
  • To collect all available information on IP.
  • To raise funds for research.
  • To work out a passport on the disease. 
  • To represent the members with the authorities, the other associations and national as well as international federations.
